BUYING GUIDE

How to choose a fabric cutting machine

A practical starting point for comparing Wolf machines and preparing your quote request.

Choosing a fabric cutting machine starts with your material, the height of the lay, the shape of the cut and the available power. Use this guide to prepare your questions, then confirm the configuration with Wolf before ordering.

Start with your fabric and cutting setup

Describe the textile, including any coating or backing. Include the number of layers and the compressed lay height; layer count alone does not describe the thickness. Tell us whether you cut individual pieces or stacked material, and whether the job involves long straight cuts or detailed shapes. You can attach photos of the material or setup to our equipment inquiry form.

Straight knife or round knife?

The Pacer straight-knife fabric cutting machine has blade options from 5 to 14 inches. Its specification page and manual provide a starting point for discussing a configuration.

Our round-knife fabric cutters span several sizes and power options. Compare listed capacity, blade diameter and weight. Blade diameter is not the same measurement as cutting capacity; material suitability still needs to be confirmed.

Compare the machine to your work

Specialty cutting-room equipment

Wolf also offers cloth drills, end cutters, selvage cutters, rag cutters and Hot Knife II. Describe the operation you need and any table dimensions relevant to the setup.

Parts for an existing Wolf machine

Use the parts and service manuals to identify the part number. Send your machine model, serial number, quantity and a clear photo when possible. Confirm that an older manual applies to your machine before ordering.
